Alloway New Jersey Beauty within series - Jennifer

I met Jennifer just a year ago when I started taking yoga classes at a local gym. I was immediately drawn to her style and energy as a yoga instructor and a friend. I've been practicing yoga for many years and have worked with a huge variety of instructors and there is something special about Jen. She has a huge passion for the yoga lifestyle and all that it encompasses yet she has an edge to her and I really appreciate that about her. She is an incredible mother and I truly admire her strength and will to advocate for her 11 year old daughter Olivia. Olivia has been diagnosed with epilepsy, autism, migraines, intellectual disabilities, & brain malformation. She has a VP shunt that drains fluid from her brain into her abdomen. She has many special needs and Jen adores her. She focuses her energy on making a positive impact on her life and she embodies the unconditional love of a mother.

It is evident that practicing yoga frees Jen's spirit and and makes her feel alive so it only made sense to photograph her doing yoga. She even brought her tibetan singing bowl that was beautiful magic to my ears ringing throughout the woods. We began our photo shoot practicing yoga together to loosen up and enjoy the gorgeous autumn day connecting with nature. We had some wonderful conversation about our roles as mothers and the challenges we face as well as the joys and smiles. Connecting with Jen and photographing her was a soulful experience. I appreciate her strength and grace as well as the mystical vibe she displays and I think her photos reflect that and the magic within her!

Alloway New Jersey 40th birthday session - Taralee

I was really excited about this photo session because I recently turned 40 and could totally relate to Taralee's desire to celebrate herself and where she is on her journey. Taralee was feeling very vulnerable as she is not one to put herself in front of the camera often. She enjoys taking photographs of her children and nature but as a woman it's easy to hide behind the scenes and not take the time to celebrate ourselves. So I was honored to have the opportunity to help her break out of her comfort zone and join her in celebrating her fabulous 40s. We wanted to capture different sides of her, so we took photos in the woods as nature brings her peace and is one of her happy places. We also wanted to capture her playful side so we photographed her with 40 colorful balloons in an open field which really allowed me to capture her inner child. She loosened up so much she was doing cartwheels! We concluded with sparklers as they are a symbol of magic and celebration and it was the perfect way to end our photo shoot. I enjoyed this session tremendously, connecting with Taralee was such a joy and capturing her beauty and playful spirit was an absolute pleasure.

In my second installment of my beauty within series I'd like to showcase my gorgeous friend Melanie. Melanie and I worked together years ago in a salon doing hair and we had an instant connection. We were pregnant together with our sons and share some amazing memories. She is an incredibly talented hair stylist/ artist and she's got a heart of gold. I've seen Melanie struggle through a lot of hardships over the years including the loss of her mother and she's remained so strong through it all. She is a business owner and a single mother of 3 and she continuously puts others first. I wanted to include her daughter Serena in a few of the photos because motherhood is such a huge part of who she is... If anyone deserves a fun photo shoot celebrating themselves and bringing out their inner magic it's her. We both have a love for all things magical and enchanting and the woods and nature inspire us. We've been known to notice fairies flitter by and talk to our little spider friends while frolicking through the forest. I love that she has such a wonderful imagination and chooses to explore that and keep it alive. So once upon a time (an enchanting theme) was a no brainer. Daretown New Jersey Family Session - The Bofinger Family

I was really looking forward to my photo shoot with the Bofinger family because I'd previously met Amy and she was so much fun to be around. I knew photographing her family would be a blast! Her son Emerson wasn't looking forward to our photo shoot but I easily won him over as I don't think he was expecting to be running around and playing in leaves! I really enjoyed capturing their playful and fun loving moments as they produced so much joy and happiness and so many smiles. They truly were a sweet and delightful family!

I've had the pleasure of photographing the Ayars family for a couple of years now and I really love working with them. Karen has a wonderful talent for stylizing photo shoots and her family is adorable. They cozied up with Santa and Mrs. Claus in this darling cabin tucked in the woods and we had a fun photo shoot that was straight out of a storybook.

When Alyssa contacted me and asked me to do portraits of her daughter and her horse I got pretty excited! I am a huge animal lover, so I was elated to be given the opportunity to capture the dynamic between this beautiful little girl and her horse. We went out to her Aunt's horse farm and explored the farm and met the other horses for a bit. They were so healthy and happy and the friendliest horses I've ever been around. One of them even put his head on my shoulder while I was photographing Jael, he wanted to make his presence known and that made me laugh! It was clear that Jael adores her horse and the relationship between them was seriously adorable. See for yourself in these precious photos.

Harrisonville New Jersey Family session - The Collins Family

Autumn is in full swing and we celebrated that at the Collins family photo shoot! Staci contacted me and set up our photo session as a result of receiving a gift certificate so I was happy that they scheduled it as I think that's a fantastic gift! The sunlight was absolutely perfect and the leaves were on the ground inviting us to play. The kids were adorable and baby Anna certainly made us work for some smiles but I think she was just curious about me and I was happy to capture her sweet personality. They were a playful family and I truly enjoyed capturing the laughter and love this darling family displayed.

I have known the Wintrode family nearly half of my life and some of my favorite memories involve them, so I was ecstatic when Cathy contacted me and asked me to photograph them. This family shares a special bond that you don't see in extended families every day. There is an unconditional love that is at the root of their existence and they share a supportive friendship that is truly inspiring. I love spending time with them and getting to know their children while photographing them was a great experience. We had lots of fun playing in the leaves and reminiscing about old times so smiles and laughter was plentiful!

Photography is a wonderful outlet for me. It makes me feel alive! So I've decided to create some fun images to reflect women who inspire me and play a role in my life. I'm calling it my beauty within series. I want to show these women just how beautiful they are when they are doing something they love. Because let's face it when we make time to do what makes us feel alive everybody wins. Our souls shine bright and we glow with radiance. These photo shoots enhance my life in so many ways. These women deserve to feel beautiful. So if I can just capture a few moments of time when they are feeling alive and free and I can display the beauty I see within them each day. My heart is full and I grow and learn from them with each experience. Eleanor is one of my best friends. I watched her put herself through law school while working full time and she made it look easy. She's brilliant and holds those who are dear to her very close to her heart. The girl has an incredible way with words and can make you laugh so hard your face hurts. She's dependable, adorable, and completely in love with her dogs. She also has a love affair with reading books and Harry Potter is her current obsession. So when I suggested we take some photos of her in my backyard and do a fun Harry Potter photo shoot she was all about it! Watch her come alive in this first photo shoot of my beauty within series.

Daretown New Jersey Famiy Session - The Hayden Family

I love how I ended up photographing this adorable family! Kate and I belong to a CSA where we pick up fresh produce weekly at a local farm. While on our last pickup of the season we shared a hayride to the pumpkin patch with our little ones. She overheard me saying I was a photographer and mentioned she needed family portraits so I gave her my card. I was delighted when she contacted me and said that she'd like to book a session! Her family was fun loving yet relaxed and I really enjoyed getting to know her boys. They had very different personalities but they're bond was one of the strongest and sweetest brotherly bonds I've seen. We played in the leaves, mom and dad gave piggy back rides, and we explored the grounds on this beautiful autumn day.

I love when my photography gives me the opportunity to reconnect with old friends. Christine and I went to high school together and share some wonderful memories so I was thrilled when she contacted me and asked me to photograph her family. Her son Trent was full of personality and spunk and was very excited about having his photos taken so I really enjoyed working with his energetic spirit! It was a beautiful crisp day and signs of fall were everywhere as you can see that gorgeous autumn sunlight shining through.

Glassboro New Jersey Family Session - The Abbey Family

We chose to photograph the Abbey family in a nice open field/farm. Karin was looking for an open setting so we could get those beautiful back lit photos and the sunset as our backdrop. I can see why she was drawn to that location as their energy and smiles shined just as bright as the sun. The children were playful and energetic and once they warmed up to me their personalities really started to emerge. I always enjoy when kids get comfortable and start to open up, as my favorite photos are the ones that I capture candidly and expose their spirit. There was a warm glow in the air that evening and it matched this family's lively and vibrant vibe.

The Cummings family were so much fun to photograph! Susanna and John have 5 kids, yes 5! And they could not have been more easy to work with. A large family does not intimidate me as I have 4 kids. So I really enjoyed working with this family and capturing their laid back and fun loving dynamic. Lots of smiles, giggles, and even piggy back rides! I honestly felt like I was just hanging out with them and our session was extremely natural which I loved. We were presented with an extraordinary sunset to wrap up the evening so Susanna, her daughter Lily, and I seized the moment to sit down and enjoy Mother Nature's show.

When photographing a family my goal is to hone in on the emotion and dynamic that they share. I'm going to say that the Warren family exudes pure joy! Katie is full of energy, her giggles and smiles are so contagious! She had some fun telling me what photos she wanted taken and I love that she wanted me to take individual portraits of her mom and dad. I really enjoyed capturing this family's laid back vibe and it's totally evident that they all adore each other.

I consider photographing families a tremendous privilege. You are welcoming me into your family dynamic and trusting me to capture precious moments. The Schroeder Family is very special to me as they have trusted me with this privilege for nearly 4 years. When I started photographing them Elle was a shy little 2 year old and Aly was expecting her second child Reed. Now they have welcomed a third child Jett and I have been around to celebrate and photograph some exciting times for them! Through the years I have truly enjoyed getting to know them and capturing the dynamic between them all. Aly and Kevin share a strong connection and it shows in the way they look at each other as well as the way they cherish their children. There is so much love here and seriously could these children be any more adorable?!

Being a mother of four is by far the most challenging yet rewarding experience of my life. Yet I am compelled to start a photography business to add to the chaos of my life! Why would you want to do that Jenn, you may ask? I have this incredible gift to see beauty in everything and I am so grateful to be able to express that through my photography. I'm truly inspired by nature, love, and relationships. And I'm not sure I can feel fulfilled without sharing this passion with the world. I want to engage with people and connect with families as often as possible because it makes my heart smile! I want to show people what I see. I want them to feel the emotion and essence of a moment when they look at my photographs. There is so much beauty in our every day moments that we tend to overlook but I have the ability to literally freeze those moments and share them with you!
